Puppies

We do not have any puppies currently available, however do have an 18 month old available. Please contact us for more information.

Our first litter, Maesgwyn Precious Gems was whelped on 2 October 2002.

Our second litter, Maesgwyn Warriors was whelped on 27 February 2006.

Our third litter, The Maesgwyn Thunder and Light litter was whelped on 28 November 2008.

Our puppies are raised in our home and live with us in our family room until they ready to go to their new homes.  They are vet checked, micro chipped, wormed and vaccinated and we will provide an extensive puppy pack to help prepare you for your new puppy.  We also provide a puppy check list and full diet sheet well in advance. Puppies are registered with the Victorian Canine Association.

We spend a lot of time observing the puppies and their behaviour to help us place puppies in the homes most suited to their and their families' needs.  We take care to socialise our puppies as soon as possible with as many people and children as we can to prepare them for their new homes.  And they are also socialised with our own adult dogs to help them learn "doggie manners".

Welshies are not outside dogs and need companionship and interaction with their families. We will only place puppies in homes where the puppy will be part of the family and will live inside.

We like to meet potential families and will invite you to visit us at our home and meet our dogs.   We believe it is important that you meet grown up dogs and see them in a home environment.

We care very much about our puppies and do not believe that the relationship ends when the puppy leaves us (unlike buying a puppy from a pet shop!).  We like to keep in touch and hear how the puppy is developing and we are also available if you have any questions or need help with training - or if you'd just like to share a Welshie story!  It is also very important that we know how the puppy is developing for the future of our breeding programme and also for the breed in general.

If you are interested in a Maesgwyn Welsh Springer Spaniel, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire which will help us understand your needs and lifestyle and assist us in placing the puppy most suited to you.  It will also help you decide whether a Welshie is really the right sort of dog for you.

We have imported semen from Kennel Benton in Finland in partnership with Beth & Trevor Marschall (Laugharne Welsh Springer Spaniels) to help widen the gene pool in Australia.  We hope to do an AI in the near future.
